At the upcoming Expo Real (Munich, Oct 5-7), the City of Ostrava together with Moravian-Silesian Region intends to show a wide range of investment opportunities. Interest in the region has been growing since a contract for investment in the Ostrava – Mošnov Industrial Zone (one of Ostrava´s major exhibits at the fair) was signed with Hyundai Mobis. Ostrava will also present the latest facts about the Science and Technology Park (STPO), including the IT4Innovations Centre of Excellence (IT4I). Two multipurpose buildings, with a total area of 5,298 m2, opened this July and it is envisaged that the STPO, being short of space available for research and development, will expand to the neighbouring plots of land, totalling approximately 26.5 hectares. Further Ostrava projects, presented at Expo Real, are brownfield sites (Karolina, Lower Vítkovice Area including the conversion of the former Vítkovice Gas Container into the multipurpose Gong Auditorium, Ostrava-Hrušov Development Area), vacant land suitable for construction as well as strategic projects. Last but not least, the offer will be completed by the projects of the Moravian-Silesian Region as the City of Ostrava´s co-exhibitor at the joint stand. The Region will offer a number of development areas to the prospective investors, such as the industrial zones Barbora, Krnov – Červený dvůr Phase II as well as the development areas in Frýdek-Místek (the Barracks Complex in the Frýdecký Forrest, the Palkovická Barracks Complex) and also the development area in Havířov (Dukla Industrial Park) and in Bruntál (Zone West, Zone East).
