City of Prague to build first new P+R in years

11 June 2019

The City of Prague is expecting to sign a contract with Hornbach Baumarkt CS that will allow it to build a Park + Ride garage for 880 cars in Černý Most. The contract stipulates that Hornbach customers not be prevented by construction work from visiting the store and that the city will install signage to direct customers where to go. The new garage is to be built where the current outdoor P+R parking lot currently operates and would be the third such facility in Černý Most. The city has barely expanded its P+R parking capacity (currently around 3000 spots) in recent despite a drastic rise in the number of commuters driving into the city. European funds will contribute CZK 324m to the construction work, which should get underway in the third quarter of the year.
