Cluj-Napoca City Hall will pay more than EUR 5.8 million for the BCR building

15 December 2022

Cluj-Napoca municipality will buy the BCR bank building on G. Barițiu street, in the city center, for over EUR 5.8 million. The City Council also had this project on the table at the beginning of the month, but then it failed to gather two-thirds of the votes of the councilors to be approved (due to some absences), so the subject returned to Monday’s meeting.

The building with mezzanine, ground floor and seven floors of the Romanian Commercial Bank will be bought for EUR 5.87 million. The building is built on state-owned land.

The city hall says that it faces a shortage of spaces, which is the reason why it would need this building, which is located in a favorable position in the center of the city.
