After more than 25 years of operating in Poland, the international law firm CMS is moving its Warsaw headquarters to the Varso Tower building.
With over 7,000 sqm the modern space for collaboration and developing relationships within the team and with the law firm’s clients – in line with the ‘cultureplace’ concept implemented by CMS.
The new CMS office in Warsaw occupies five floors – from the 39th to the 43rd, and its space is significantly larger than the previous one. Above all, the space dedicated to collaborative work has increased, which includes spacious conference rooms, creative work rooms, cafeteria-style kitchens and libraries. The firm’s employees and associates also have access to a terrace located on the 43rd floor of the office building – with a spectacular view of the Warsaw skyline. The floors are connected by a 21-meter-high internal staircase, which features a unique vertical garden and a dedicated mural by acclaimed artist Titus Brzozowski. This staircase, built especially for CMS, is visible from the outside of the building as part of Varso Tower’s architecture and thus blends into the Warsaw scenery.
“We build our market position based on quality relationships: with our team and with clients,” says Andrzej Posniak, managing partner at CMS law firm, “It is important for us to stimulate creativity, create and use innovations, and, above all, to cooperate. We want to build valuable relationships not only on the line employee-employee or employee-client, but also client-client; to connect ideas, concepts, transform them into new opportunities and solutions. The new space makes it possible to do this even better, in line with our ‘cultureplace’ concept, at the center of which are precisely broadly defined relationships, respect for the environment and corporate social responsibility activities,” said Andrzej Posniak.
The CMS headquarters in Varso Tower – as the first office of a law firm in Poland and one of the of the few in the world – will be certified under the WELL Building Standard system testing the space for, among other things, ensuring the health and well-being of those in it. The office will also be assessed under the BREEAM certification system confirming environmental impact.
“Our interdisciplinary ESG team advises clients on how to act in accordance with ESG standards. We want to be consistent in this area and set a good example with our activity,” says Beata Kępowicz, CMS’ director of operations in Poland. “We have created a place that reflects CMS values: caring for employees and co-workers – their health and well-being, responding to customers’ needs and designed with care for the environment.”
“Our priority was to create a space where the law firm’s team and their needs are at the center, because these are the people who care about our clients. That’s why we focused on modern and custom solutions. Our employees and associates influenced a number of elements of the office’s appearance and functionality, and were active participants in the change from the very beginning. As a result, a unique interior was created, which is conducive to cooperation. We look to the future, so our spaces are friendly, colorful, functional, innovative and inspiring. We hope that everyone will feel very comfortable here,” adds Andrzej Posniak.
