International Workplace Group expects to open three co-working centers in Prague before the end of the year. Idnes.cz is the latest daily newspaper to notice that flexible office arrangements have arrived in the Czech capital and that IWG’s plans to open another 10,000 sqm of it would bring the city’s total stock to nearly 70,000 sqm. It quotes WorkLounge’s marketing manager Markéta Kučerová as saying “Our first two branches are almost at capacity and new ones are going to the new one in Karlin with lease request…In view of the high level of demand, we’re considering opening another space.” The newspaper cites Martin Stričko of JLL as saying that co-working offices in Czech regional cities are already opening up, but that they’re in demand more by individuals than by companies in need of flexible expansion space. CBRE’s Lenka Hurdíková says that a consensus is forming that it pays for companies with 50 or fewer employees to lease co-working facilities with deals of up to three years.
