Data published by the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC) shows that the number of firms that suspended their activity in the first eight months of 2023 was 10,139, up 5.64 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
According to ONRC, most companies that suspended their activity in the period were in Bucharest, followed by Cluj, Brasov, Iasi and Timis counties. At the other end of the scale, the fewest suspensions were recorded in Tulcea, Giurgiu, Ialomițan and Covasna counties.
