Companies that moved their offices from Ukraine ask for accommodation for employees

24 March 2022

Călin Ile, the president of the Romanian Hotel Industry Federation, says that the occupancy rate in the Capital, from the beginning of March until now, is about 75 percent. In the same period last year, hotels in Bucharest recorded an occupancy rate of only 22 percent.

“The occupancy rate during this period is very good, there are several categories of refugees. There are those who can afford budgets, who do not ask for gratuities, there are people of other nationalities who stay in hotels paid for by embassies, and the third category is that of Ukrainians who have been brought by the companies they work for. There are companies, also based in Bucharest, that have moved their offices from Ukraine to Romania. For a while, those employees have to stay somewhere, we get requests for two or three months from these companies that have moved their offices, ”said Călin Ile.
