The Italian construction company Condotte has started the construction of four small hydroelectic power plants in Macedonia. The total investment amounts roughly €19m. Work on one of the plants has been completed on the Estericka river near Probishtip and should go into operation over the winter.
The remaining three plants, two stations on River Zrnovska in the Kocani area and another one on River Kadina in the region of Skopje, are in different stages of construction.
“We are particularly pleased with the framework prepared by the Macedonian government for foreign investors,” said in a press conference Condotte CEO Duccio Astaldi He added that his company is also interested in investing more in the country.
Condotte invests in infrastructural projects all over the globe and entered the Macedonian market in 2013.
