Confidence in the Czech economy fell slightly in December, falling 0.2 basis points to 99.1 points. The fall among entrepreneurs was 0.2 points, but among consumers confidence actually rose 0.8 percent compared to November’s figures to 108.7. Compared with the numbers recorded in 2015, December’s results were higher. Respondents to the recent survey carried out by the Czech Statistics Office expect the tempo of industrial production growth to slow, however they didn’t express concern over rising unemployment. Overall confidence in construction in December fell 4.1 percent to 75 points, though construction companies demonstrated no loss in confidence in the prospects for the Czech economy. The retail sector returned confidence figures that were 1.1 points lower (101.1 points). In contrast to this, consumers showed no change in confidence regarding their own financial situations.
