Confidence in the Czech economy drops in November

Confidence in the Czech economy decreased in November by 1.7 points month-on-month, according to the Czech Statistical Office (CSU). Entrepreneur confidence remained unchanged in the service sector but dropped in the construction, trade and industry sectors. Consumer confidence remained flat. Confidence in the industry sector decreased both month-on-month and y-o-y due to the increase in stocks of finished goods. For the next three months, businesses expect to see a decrease in production activity and no changes in employment rates. Investment is expected to fall by 1 percent y-o-y in 2013 in the manufacturing sector. In the construction sector, the assessment of demand decreased m-o-m. In the trade sector, confidence also fell both month-on-month and year-on-year and stocks decreased slightly.
