Construction activity increased 18.5 percent m-o-m and by 0.7 percent y-o-y in September, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute. Capital repairs were up 28.5 percent, while maintenance and current repairs increased by 24.6 percent, and new construction was up 14.6 percent for the month. Construction for non-residential buildings increased by 33.2 percent, civil engineering by 13.2 percent and residential by 10.3 percent.
In the first nine months of 2016, the construction volume increased 1.9 percent y-o-y.
