The planned reconstruction of the State Opera in Prague may be delayed by a few months. Hochtief CZ won the tender with a CZK 858m bid. However, Metrostav, which also submitted a bid, has appealed the decision. Other competitors are questioning whether Hochtief is qualified to refurbish the historic property. Hochtief points to repairs it made of the Vítkov monument in Prague as well as 11 historic objects in the town of Litomyšl and the Broumov monastery and the baroque Hospital Kuks. The case will be reviewed by the Antimonopoly Office. If the appeal is successful, the tender could be canceled and the process would start from scratch again. The Antimonopoly Office has two months to make a decision.
