With land preparation works completed, the City of Prague has finally begun construction of a new Park & Ride facility next to the Cerny Most metro station for 880 cars. This will replace the existing parking lot that serves as a P+R lot for roughly 300 cars. It’s due to be completed in October 2021 at a cost of CZK 500 million. The city has neglected investment into this type of infrastructure for years, which has helped drive ever-worsening congestion in the center, but some relief does now seem to be on the way. New commuter garages are planned for Depo Hostivar (649 cars), Opatov (498), two in Zlicin (450 and 688) and eventually a huge parking lot for 1,000 cars at the Smichov train station.
