The recovery of construction activity in Greece continues, despite the obstacles created by the coronavirus. According to Hellenic Statistical Authority, a year-on-year increase in new building permits of 28.7% was recorded in September, while the square footage increased by 13.6% on an annual basis.
In the first nine months of this year, there was an increase in permits by 15.1%, area 14.5% and volume 10.8%. In September, the total construction activity, state and private amounted to 1,732 issued permits, which corresponds to 394,300 square kilometers and 1.54 million cubic meters. This meant an annual increase in permits by 29%, an area of 13.3% and a volume of 13.9%.
