Construction output up 11% in Romania

The construction volume on the Romanian market increased by 11 percent y-o-y in the first seven months of the year, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute. Work on non-residential buildings increased by 15.5 percent, while civil engineering work increased by 10.8 percent and residential building construction was up by 5 percent.

Construction output, however, decreased 1.4 percent m-o-m in July, with engineering work down by 6 percent. But there was an increase in residential and non-residential buildings by 9.1 percent and 3.8 percent respectively, the data shows.
