Construction permit values rise 17 percent in August

According to a new report from Dodge Data & Analytics, commercial construction permits pulled in Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties had a total value of $118.43 million for the month of August. The amount represents an increase of 17 percent over the $101.48 million in permits from the same time period last year. Permit values for new home projects rose 19 percent from $319.43 million in 2015 to $380.68 million this past August. Year to date totals (the combined values of commercial and home) for the first eight months of 2016 took a 2 percent drop compared to the same period last year from $4.86 billion to $4.76 billion.
