Construction broke ground on the Morava corridor in central Serbia. Stretching 112 km from Pojate to Preljina, the country’s first digital highway will connect the Rasinski, Raski and Moravicki districts with Corridors 10 and 11. The project will go up in three stages and is expected to take less than four years to complete. The first 28 km section will run from Pojate to Krusevac. A number of new technologies will be installed along the corridor, including optical and digital cables, Wi-Fi stations and traffic management as well as intelligent transport systems. Bechtel Enka UK Limited signed a €745m contract earlier this month to oversee construction.
