Construction on the D6 motorway between Prague and Karlovy Vary is finally scheduled to begin in November. The road will measure 82 km and has been divided into 12 projects that are due for completion in 2030. Tenders for some of them are already underway, with bids from contractors due in by late August. Work has been delayed by numerous factors, including a new EIA study that had to be carried out and by a procession of new ministers of transportation. The next step once that road is in place would be to complete the motorway connection between Karlovy Vary and Germany, but there’s no indication now when that might take place.
