The number of people working in the construction sector increased by 8 percent between August 2011 and August 2012, according to the magazine Business Construct.
The largest construction companies on the local market employ nearly 29,000 people, according to the magazine. By late August, these companies had on average about 600 employees more employees than in 2011, according to data from Labor Inspection and Ministry of Finance.
The workforce increased the most in companies like Astaldi Spa (152 percent), Strabag (71 percent) and PA & CO International (52 percent), according to official statistics.
