Romanian construction work rose 15.3 percent in April according to the National Statistics Institute. Breaking down the figures, civil engineering rose by 23.5 percent, non-residential buildings by 6.7 percent and residential buildings edged up just 2.9 percent.
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the volume of construction works increased by 12.6 percent. In the first four months of 2016, the volume of construction works expanded 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Civil engineering work rose by 29.7 percent, non-residential buildings decreased by 0.7 percent and residential buildings decreased by 1.9 percent.
