Consumer prices in Hungary grew 2.2 percent on average in May than the same month last year, according to newly published data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). The increase was driven by bumps in food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices. Food prices increased by 8.4 percent on average y-o-y, while the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 6.7 percent on average. Prices for services increased by 2.6 percent, according to KSH data. Fuel prices, meanwhile, were down 22 percent.
