The German tire manufacturer Continental Anvelope has invested more than €271m in its Timisoara factory over the past 12 years, increasing output from 1.2 million tires in 2001 to 14.8 million last year. The company also increased its Timisoara workforce from 200 to 1,800 during the same period.
With a turnover of €30.5bn in 2011, Continental Anvelope is one of the top tire manufacturers in the world. The company operates seven production units and three research and development centers in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, Brasov and Iasi.
