15 May 2012

Czech police have apparently caught the powerful Social Democrat David Rath with a large amount of cash that’s alleged to have been part of a bribe. Sources from the Social Democrats have told aktualne.cz the amount in question was supposed to be CZK 5m and was (allegedly) connected to overpriced tenders at the hospital in Kladno. Rath came to power through his energetic promotion of higher wages for health workers, but he has always been a controversial figure.
