Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said that in the first three months of this year, the city issued construction permits for 330,348 sqm of space. He said that the city generally issues building permits for over one million square meters of space per year. This March alone, permits for 111 locations and 23 building permits were secured by investors for a total of 147,841 sqm. That was more even than March 2019, when just under 60,000 square meters of construction was approved by the city. Vesic added that work is ongoing at all construction sites in Belgrade and that the building sector would be an important one for the city once the state of emergency is over.
