Costco Corporation has purchased a 15.46 acre tract of land in southwest Orlando from Fort Lauderdale-based BBX Capital Corporation. The parcel is part of a 47-acre mixed-use development called Gardens on Millenia, located near Interstate 4 just east of the Mall at Millenia. Costco is to build a 152,000 square-foot store on the site along with a gas station. BBX Capital expects the mixed use Gardens at Millenia to encompass 300,000 square feet of retail space including the Costco store, a 292-unit apartment complex, plus two one-acre outparcels.
