Court blocks residential building works

The building permit secured by the Romanian investors Marius Locic and Valeriu Stoica for a residential building in Cotroceni was suspended by a court in Bucharest the “Save Bucharest” civic movement sued, claiming construction on the site was illegal and that the protected area was not being respected.
The building, estimated to be worth more than €12m is to offer 34 apartments, according to calculations by DailyBusiness.ro.
It reports that the building houses 12 people who are flat owners in the building, and that they do not intend to sell their units after completion.
The building is located on Carol Davila Street, in central Bucharest.
