All vaccines against covid-19 could be distributed by one distributor from July, which insurance companies will select in a tender. That is now being prepared. Zdeněk Kabátek, director of Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna (VZP), which is the largest in the Czech Republic and that the tender documentation for the tender should be ready in the coming weeks. It is currently being vaccinated in the Czech Republic with four vaccines against covid-19. In addition to the vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech, which is delivered by the manufacturer itself, insurance companies have concluded separate contracts with other distributors for other vaccines.
“The preparation of a large contract is already underway. Twice a week, the working groups meet, with the idea that a draft tender dossier should be completed within a week of weeks, which would allow covido-19 vaccines to be distributed from July this year. one distributor, ” said Kabátek.
In addition to Pfizer, vaccines are now being distributed in the Czech Republic by Avenier companies from the Agel Group, entrepreneurs Tomáš Chrenk and Alliance Healthcare. Insurance companies pay them from 70 to 201 crowns without VAT for the delivery of one package of vaccine, which is different for each vaccine.
Insurance companies are also preparing a tender for the purchase and distribution of compulsory vaccination, at the end of this year the contract with the current supplier, which is also Avenier, ends. According to Kabátek, the tender could be announced for the holidays.
There are currently four types of vaccines in the Czech Republic. Three are given in two doses, the fourth is one dose. According to the original delivery schedule, which was approved by the government in January, the Czechia was to receive almost 11.4 million doses of vaccines from five manufacturers by the end of August. 6.68 million people were expected to be vaccinated.
