CPI Property Group has ended its cooperation with the Czech Olympic Committee (ČOV). By leaving the Olympic movement, the company is reacting to the International Olympic Committee’s decision to allow neutral Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The company made the announcement in a press release today and called on other COC partners to do the same.
The real estate company of Czech billionaire Radovan Vitek does not want to be associated with the Olympic movement, which in its view has capitulated to the Russian and Belarusian regimes. “Since the beginning of the armed conflict, we have clearly and unequivocally rejected any possibility of the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Paris Olympics, even at the cost of boycotting the Games. With Friday’s IOC decision, our darkest fears have come true. The Games in Paris will serve as a platform for Russian propaganda,” said its executive director Zdenek Havelka.
The IOC disagrees with the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Paris Games in light of Russia’s ongoing aggression in Ukraine. CTK is seeking its reaction to the departure of one of its partners.
