CPI is planning to issue a green bond in order to raise funds that would be used to invest in projects that are environmentally friendly. The company has been expanding the range of its sources of financing by issuing bonds in a variety of currencies, but green bonds are a new departure. “We were always pioneers in our methods of financing and this is another of our pioneering steps,” said Martin Němeček. He told Hospodářské noviny that the company’s primary goal for now would be to concentrate on the reconstruction and modernization of its assets. “This type of investment is much more advantageous for us at the present time than buying new real estate,” said Němeček.
