Crestyl goes public with South City plans in Brno

23 December 2019

The developer Crestyl has unveiled its plans for the project which will replace the Dorny shopping center in Brno, which is the old Tesco building just south of the city’s train station. Crestyl plans to build a new city district on the site that would connect the city’s historic center with the planned South District. The current shopping center would be replaced by six independent buildings that would be connected to the city’s network of streets and to a tunnel under the the current train station. “We want to create a public space that’s always alive that has all the appropriate functions,” said Simon Johnson, executive director of Crestyl. The developer is working closely with Brno’s planning officials and its chief architect to ensure the project is in line with future development plans. Work is expected to take around five years to complete.
