Croatia is about to begin construction of a 121 km bike path along the river Sava. The value of this project is €16.6m, European Union funds to cover 85 percent. Zagreb and the region of Zagreb will finance the remainder. The bike path begins at the Slovenian border and runs along the Sava to Lijevi Dubrovcak. Completion is expected with five years and will be worked on in nine stages.
