Croatia’s economy grew by 2.2 percent in the third quarter, up from 1.2 percent in Q2, according to recent figures. The jump has been attributed to a boost in exports and investments. This is the biggest increase since the second quarter of 2008, when the country’s GDP grew by 2.9 percent.
The Croatian National Bank is forecasting that the economy will increase by 1.2 percent for the year. The European Commission also increased its growth forecast for Croatia from 0.3 to 1.1 percent, while the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is estimating an increase of 0.8 percent, up from 0.5 percent.
