Croatia’s public debt falls to €38.5bn

Croatia’s public debt at the end of Q1 fell to €38.5bn, a 1.6-percent decrease y-o-y. This is the first time the country’s public debt has fallen annually since 1999, according to the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK).

The decrease was due to the continuation of positive budget trends. Compared to February, Croatia’s public debt decreased by €173.6m in March.
