Croatia sees 5.3 percent fewer building permits issued last year compared to 2019

In Croatia, 9,403 building permits were issued last year, which is 5.3 percent less than in 2019, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics. According to the types of buildings, 83 percent or 7,800 permits were issued last year for buildings, and 17 percent or 1,603 for other buildings.

Statistics show that the number of building permits issued in 2020 compared to 2019 for buildings decreased by 4.8 percent and for other buildings by 7.9 percent. According to the types of works, 7,080 permits or 75.3 percent were issued for new construction last year, and 24.7 percent or 2,323 for reconstructions.

According to the issued building permits, the construction of 14,083 apartments is planned for 2020, a decrease of 8.4 percent compared to the year before.
