Croatian construction falls 4.8% in October

The volume of construction work in Croatia in October 2015 dropped 4.8 percent in October compared to October 2014, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS). The result was in line with previous months, as construction activity fell 1.6 percent in September and 0.5 percent in August. July was the last month the volume of construction work registered an increase (0.4 percent).

“Sufficient investment activity is still lacking,” said Zvonimir Savic, head of the Department for Financial Institutions, Business Information and Economic Analyses at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK). Building construction fell by 2.4 percent in October and on other structures by 6.9 percent.
