Croatian exports increased by 3.5 percent y-o-y in the first five months of 2016, while imports were up 3.1 percent, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. Croatia exported €3.1bn worth of goods between January and May. Imports for the five-month period exceeded €7.82bn. The trade deficit was €4.72bn, up 2.6 percent y-o-y.
Exports to other EU countries increased by 4.5 percent, and imports from EU countries rose by 4.4 percent. Exports to non-EU went up 1.5 percent, while imports from those countries dropped by 1.4 percent, according to the statistics.
