Croatian industrial output fell 16.2 percent in May

The total turnover of industry in Croatia in May compared to April increased by 0.9 percent, while according to calendar-adjusted data it fell by 16.2 percent on an annual basis, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The total seasonally and calendar-adjusted turnover of the industry in May fell by 0.7 percent compared to April, and by 6.3 percent on the foreign market. A monthly comparison with the main industrial sectors shows that in May, sales of durable consumer goods increased by 58.5 percent and capital goods by 3.8 percent on a monthly basis. At the same time, sales of energy fell by 43.2 percent, while non-durable consumer goods fell by 3.1 percent. On an annualized basis, May’s industrial turnover fell 12.4 percent, with sales of durable consumer goods dropping 28.5 percent, capital goods by 25.1 percent, and non-durable consumer goods by 17.5 percent. Energy sales rose 30.2 percent.
