A solar power plant is in the works for the island of Cres in Croatia. Construction on the Orlec Trinket Solar Power Plant is scheduled to break ground in 2020. It will be the largest solar plant in the country and is expected to produce around 8.5 GWh of electricity per year. This will be enough to power about 2,000 households. The project is slated to go up on 17 ha in the island’s Orlec settlement. The value of the investment is about €6m.
