Croatian receipts jump 25 percent in 2nd wave of loosening

14 May 2020

The pace at which businesses are opening up again in Croatia can be tracked by the growing number of receipts being filed into the country’s tax system. The total number rose 25 percent from last week to HRK 27.7m and the number was 21 percent higher than the same week in 2019. Despite the improved figures, the overall number of receipts for 2020 has declined dramatically.

Last week saw the second wave of restrictions lifted, a move that allowed hairdressers, beauty salons and barbers to return to work. The total value of all invoices from last week was HRK 2.8bn. The number of invoices issued by the catering and tourism sector rose 33.7 percent to 720,000, while their value rose 23 percent to almost HRK 44m.
