Cruise passengers spend $7.3bn in 2013

A new report from Florida TaxWatch says that Florida is home to three of the world’s most visited cruise terminals: Port Canaveral, Port Miami and Port Everglades. The report also shows that 9 million cruise passengers came thru Florida ports and accounted for $7.3 billion in direct spending. The state is also responsible for more than a third of all cruise industry direct spending in the U.S. Florida’s five ports accounted for nearly 62 percent of all U.S. embarkations in 2013 according to the Cruise Lines International Association.
