According to Croatian Bureau of Statistics, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there were only 15 cruise ships under foreign flags over the first five months of the year, a 91 percent reduction from the year before. Crucially, none of them have entered the sea after the month of March.
The number of tourists that entered Croatia on those cruises was 3,700, which marks a 98.5 percent reduction from the year before. Some ships have continued partial service following the easing of restrictions in Croatia, but these are mostly domestic, smaller ships and shorter cruises organized by some domestic agencies and companies.
Only in late June did some foreign-based tour operators begin arriving in the country. However, there have been no large cruisers with thousands of passengers in the Adriatic since March this year, and none have appeared even in the first days of July.
