Česká spořitelna, Raiffeisenbank and UniCredit Bank reported a double-digit increase in profit for the first half of this year. Česká spořitelna’s net profit rose by 43.4 percent year-on-year to CZK 6.6 billion, Raiffeisenbank by 26 percent to CZK 1.69 billion and the Czech and Slovak UniCredit Bank reported an increase in profit by a third to CZK 3.24 billion. This follows from the results published by banks Friday. Next week, ČSOB and Komerční banka will publish the results also for H1.
“Česká spořitelna’s business and financial results for the second quarter reflect the positive sentiment of households and companies in connection with the improving pandemic situation,” said Tomáš Salomon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Česká spořitelna.
The volume of loans provided by Česká spořitelna increased by more than five percent year-on-year to CZK 812.5 billion in the first half of the year. Liabilities to clients rose by 6.8 percent year on year to CZk 1.2237 trillion.
“In the second quarter, we focused on serving clients who came to us from ING. At the moment, we have transferred more clients in our portfolio than our planned target, more than 60 percent deposits and 90 percent investments,” Raiffeisenbank CEO Igor Vida commented on the results. He also included significant progress in digitization among the positive news.
The volume of loans provided to clients at Raiffeisenbank decreased by 0.6 percent to CZK 251 billion. The decrease occurred mainly on the part of companies in the form of project loans. The volume of deposits received from clients increased by 28.3 percent year on year to CZK 411 billion.
The volume of UniCredit Bank deposits increased by 12 percent year-on-year to CZK 457 billion. The volume of provided loans increased by eight percent to CZK 472 billion.
Earlier in the week, Moneta Money Bank also published its results, which increased its net profit by 18.3 percent year-on-year to CZK 5.38 billion.
