CTP is set to build a 50,000 sqm distribution center for Makro at its logistics park near Prague in Úžice along the D8 motorway. The wholesale chain wants to test a new concept of highly automatized storage, where staff will be replaced by robots. The warehouse in Úžice will serve as a pilot project for Europe. If successful, Makro is set to apply the model around Europe and is reportedly looking for locations in Moravia and Slovakia. Makro also has a distribution center in Jažlovice, near Prague, on the D1, which is operated by logistics provider Hopi.
