Czech Airlines to target new Asian, Russian destinations

17 January 2013

Czech Airlines announced plans to launch a direct service to Seoul this June and expand its Asian and Russian destinations next year.
ā€œWe are already working on a plan with our SkyTeam partner Korean Air. We will fly to Seoul but we are also looking at additional niche markets in Asia, as well as connecting traffic to Japan and Pacific region via Seoul,ā€ Czech Airlines’ executive director Christophe Viatte told the server Routes News. He added that the carrier has also been analyzing points in the Russian Far East and CIS, including Astana, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Vladivostok. ā€œThere could be a plan to add more long haul aircrafts, but it will depend on our future partner’s ambitions as well as Prague Airport’s development plan,ā€ Viatte said. ā€œIt all depends on the bigger picture, but the plan is for sure to develop more long-haul destinations from Prague in the future.ā€
