Czech company building Košice factory

12 September 2014

Metal Trade Comax, based in the Czech town of Velvary near Kladno, plans to build a factory that will produce non-ferrous metals in Košice in eastern Slovakia. The Czech company will build the production facility through its Slovak subsidiary MT Comax, which is based in Košice. The investment, worth €7m, will create 35 jobs and produce 24 tons of aluminium alloys annually. Construction is set to start in June 2015. Metal Trade Comax says it is running out of space at its current location, and Košice offers an opportunity to cooperate with U.S Steel. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2016.
