Despite strong results in 2018, the Czech construction sector is expecting continued growth of 3.2 percent in 2019, according to a major new survey by CEEC Research. It found that the optimism is strongest among the bigger companies, most of whom believe that the sector’s momentum will continue into 2020, after which the sitaution around EU funding of investments will change. CEEC writes that construction sector output grew by 8.4 percent in 2018. “If the state will be as generous towards the construction sectors as it is in the area of social policy and wages, our sector should do better, primarily thanks to investments in transportation infrastructure,” said Jiří Tesař, sales director at the contractor Subterra.
