Czech contractors expect continued, but slower growth

27 November 2018

The Czech construction sector will grow 2.6 percent next year but just 0.6 percent in 2020 according to a study by CEEC Research. It predicted that revenues of Czech contractors would grow by 3.9 percent in 2019 and that they have an average of nine months worth of work already contracted. The most optimistic of the 109 construction company executives are those that are active in transportation infrastructure projects, as they are expecting 5.4 percent year-on-year growth of the sector in 2019. Those focused on the construction of real estate projects (like residential, office or industrial structures) put the figure lower at just 1.5 percent. The companies reported a 14 percent rise in costs, primarily because of higher prices for labor and materials.
