Total annual revenues produced by Czech construction companies rose 10 percent, breaking through the CZK 500bn mark for the first time ever in 2018. The Czech Statistics Office (CSU) figures were revealed by Jiří Nouza, president of the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs in a speech in which he said the sector had exceeded expectations. “We had predicted growth of around 4 to 5 percent but the results were better.” Output rose by 8.4 percent in 2018, according to the CSU, with growth occurring across the sector, from buildings to infrastructure. “It’s positive that besides November, construction production rose year on year every month last year,” said Nouza.
