Czech armaments companies will help Ukraine, they do not want to comment on the details. According to available information, the government will discussed the issue of the Czech arms industry’s supplies to Ukraine last night at an extraordinary meeting. The Czechoslovak Group will provide Ukraine with the means for effective defense. It also expects to allocate its production capacity for the needs of the Czech Republic’s defense, even at the cost of delaying export orders. CSG, which operates in a number of sectors, said this in an annoucement. Another Czech armaments company, STV Group, is also preparing to help. It is negotiating with the Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian Embassy about the supply of ammunition, armored vehicles or ballistic protection, Pavel Beran said on behalf of the company.
CSG Holding reminded that massive aid is flowing to Ukraine from the entire democratic and free world, which also includes the Czech Republic and the Czechoslovak Group. “We are proud to be able to contribute to this assistance in the most important area: by providing the means to effectively defend against the aggressor,” the company said. “At the same time, we anticipate that, if necessary, we will allocate our production capacities to the needs of the Czech Republic’s defense, even at the cost of delaying export orders or abandoning export opportunities, which normally represent the majority of our activities,” it added.
In a statement, the CSG conglomerate said that because its member companies often represent strategic defense companies, it carefully monitors the security situation in Ukraine and the Czech Republic. “We have increased the security of our facilities and we are cooperating in this matter with the Police of the Czech Republic and other security forces. However, for security reasons, we cannot publish details,” it said.
The company recalled its supplies for the Czech army and the fact that it helped Ukraine with its materials already at a time when “the idea of a Russian invasion was hardly believable. CSG is currently communicating assistance to Ukraine with the government, ministries and the Defense and Security Industry Association (AOBP).
Holding CSG is engaged in defense and civil industrial production and trade. The companies included in the CSG holding earned CZK 25.7 billion the year before and have over 8,200 employees.
