Speaking at a forum on construction in the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Petr Necas the government’s strategy is to create a competitive environment and to create conditions to promote this. Instead of just looking for ways to cut expenses, the focus should be on finding effective uses or money. The head of the Union of Construction Entrepreneurs Vaclav Matyas also spoke at the forum. He complained that the Czech Republic is doing a poor job of exploiting available European funds. Another participant in the forum was Agrofert boss and political hopeful Andrej Babis. He complained that the country lacks a credible investment plan, and that excuses for not doing anything rather than finding solutions is the usual mode of operation in the Czech Republic.
